Wyoming Horse Racing

The largest licensed Wyoming horse racing operator by handle. Runs the state's biggest network of Historic Horse Racing terminals and simulcast wagering locations across multiple counties.

The largest Wyoming horse racing operator

Wyoming Horse Racing, LLC is the largest of the three licensed Wyoming operators by handle. Per the most recent Wyoming Gaming Commission report, the company handled $108.47 million in Historic Horse Racing wagers in March 2026, 44.5% of statewide HHR handle and the largest single-operator share in the state.

The operator does not host live racing. Its business is built around an Off-Track Betting and Historic Horse Racing terminal network spread across Wyoming counties, supplemented by simulcast wagering on out-of-state racing cards.

HHR terminal network

Wyoming Horse Racing's HHR terminal footprint is the largest in the state. HHR machines look and feel like slot machines but are technically pari-mutuel wagers on encrypted historic race outcomes, the regulatory distinction that allows them to operate in Wyoming where conventional commercial slots (outside tribal casinos) are not legal. For a full explainer, see our Historic Horse Racing guide.

Simulcast wagering

Wyoming Horse Racing's venues accept simulcast wagers on US and international race cards. March 2026 simulcast handle across Wyoming Horse Racing locations was $289,518, the largest among the three operators (62% of statewide simulcast handle that month).

Simulcast remains a small absolute share of the operator's total business, HHR overshadows it by roughly 375-to-1, but it serves customers who prefer in-person wagering on live race feeds.

State revenue contribution

Per the WGC March 2026 report, Wyoming Horse Racing's HHR operations generated:

  • State tax: $271,171
  • LSRA distribution: $271,171
  • County distribution: $542,341
  • City distribution: $542,341
  • Breeder distribution: $433,873

That's roughly $2.06 million in distributions to public funds and breeder programs from a single month at this operator alone.
