DraftKings enters the Wyoming ADW market
The June ADW report introduces a new licensed operator: Draft Kings, $21,682.50 in monthly wagers. This is the first month DraftKings has appeared in the Wyoming Gaming Commission's horse racing reporting. DraftKings Horse Racing (the operator's separate ADW brand) has been active in other US states for years, but June 2026 is the launch reporting for Wyoming.

DraftKings launched at 6.9% share in month one, immediately overtaking Xpressbet, Lien Games Racing, and Sportech. For a Wyoming customer who already holds a DraftKings sportsbook account, the horse racing product adds without needing a separate registration flow. Two structural implications:
- Gameplay's dominance is under pressure. Gameplay held 67.6% of state ADW handle in March. Three months later it holds 49.7%, still the leader but no longer commanding two-thirds of the market. TVG and TwinSpires took most of the March-to-June share gain, and DraftKings joins the competitive tier.
- Cross-sell opportunity from sportsbook. DraftKings holds 49.4% of Wyoming sports betting handle. If even a small fraction of that customer base migrates to horse racing, DraftKings ADW share could climb quickly in Q3.

307 Horse Racing hosts a live meet, $1.62M in on-track handle
The June 2026 WGC report shows $1,622,169 in live racing handle attributed to 307 Horse Racing. This is a shift from the historical pattern where Wyoming Downs hosted the state's only live thoroughbred and quarter horse meet each summer at Evanston. May's report showed a small $100K live opener at 307; June scaled that to $1.62M, consistent with a full summer race meet operating at a 307 Horse Racing venue.
What the live meet numbers tell us:
- Live handle payout was $1.29M, representing a 79% payout ratio (typical for pari-mutuel live meets).
- State tax on live wagering: $24,332, on top of the standard HHR distributions from 307's larger terminal network.
- Breeder fund contribution: $10,687, which flows to the Wyoming Breeders' Fund supporting in-state horse breeding.

Historic Horse Racing pulls back from May peak
HHR handle trajectory across 2026:
- March: $243.9M
- April: $245.1M
- May: $250.2M (peak)
- June: $229.7M (-8.2% MoM)
The May peak coincided with Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes attention driving casual gambler foot traffic to HHR venues that also carry simulcast feeds of the major races. June returned to a more typical baseline after Triple Crown attention ended.
Per-operator June HHR:
- Wyoming Horse Racing: $103.3M (45.0% share)
- Wyoming Downs: $71.5M (31.1%)
- 307 Horse Racing: $54.9M (23.9%)

Simulcast returns to steady baseline
June simulcast handle was $551,327, down 26.7% from May's $752,107. The May spike was Triple Crown-driven; June's number is closer to the year's underlying baseline for casual off-track wagering at Wyoming venues.

- Wyoming Horse Racing: $266,691 (48.4%)
- 307 Horse Racing: $172,682 (31.3%)
- Wyoming Downs: $111,954 (20.3%)
What to watch in the Wyoming horse racing market
- DraftKings ADW ramp. A 6.9% share at launch is meaningful. Whether that grows into a legitimate challenge to Gameplay is the H2 story.
- 307's live meet. Confirming the venue, dates, and whether this becomes an annual fixture will be the story to follow through late summer 2026.
- HHR distributions normalize. May's HHR peak drove elevated state and municipal revenue. June's pullback returns those flows to typical baseline.
- Fall race season. Breeders' Cup (late October / early November) is the next major national event that will drive Wyoming simulcast and ADW handle.
